This is the case where if something doesn’t work, it’s not the manufacturer’s fault. The manufacturer can be sued for any defects in their product.
The whole idea of strict product liability was to make a manufacturer responsible for all defects in their products. It was introduced in the state of California for products that were sold in the state. It’s not the same thing as a negligence claim.
In California, strict product liability was passed into law in the late nineteen eighties. It applies to products and is a state law doctrine that allows a plaintiff to sue a manufacturer for injuries caused by a product’s defects. In theory, this is exactly what happens in Deathloop.
