John Anderson is a man of faith and determination, who has been blessed to have lived an amazing life. He believes in the power of words spoken from the heart with the intention for God’s glory; which is one reason he wrote this book! His desire was to share his story – which he knows can be inspirational and encouraging – so that others may also find hope and strength in their lives by trusting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior! John’s goal is not only for people to read “It’s All About You” but also to believe it too. The proof will lie within your own personal experience when you put into practice what he shares on these pages. It would be impossible for him or any other human being to live out all that it is for you in this life, but he does believe that a relationship with Jesus Christ will give you the strength and joy to do anything!
*John Anderson was born on September 14th, 1938. His father died just before his birth so John quickly became a daddy’s boy.*
*When John got older he spent time working on the family farm while doing what most boys do; play sports and have fun. He graduated from high school in 1956 and went off to college where he met his future wife of fifty-six years.*
*In 1967 at age twenty-eight John felt God calling him into full-time ministry. Alongside his ordination came a call to be an associate pastor which lasted until 1973.*
*John Anderson and his family moved to the United States where he was a pastor for five years. After that John enjoyed being an evangelist and traveling with his wife.*
*In 1980 God called him into full-time ministry again so they left their home, jobs, friends, church community and went back to North Carolina as missionaries in Africa. This time it lasted twelve years! They returned home in 1992 when John’s health started failing due to malaria contracted while overseas.*
*The Andersons spent two more decades working on missions projects from Arkansas to Alabama until retirement beckoned in 2002. Today this semiretired couple spends most of their days enjoying life together.*
*It is said that “if you want something done right, do it yourself.” John Anderson does not follow that advice. He would much rather have others doing what they are good at and he is content to enjoy the life God has given him.*
*The Andersons are thankful for their children who now support them in ministry as well, with one son traveling with his wife overseas full-time while another son serves on staff here in North Carolina.*
*They also rejoice over three grandchildren living near enough to be treasured by both grandparents.*
John’s favorite Bible verse: Hebrews 12:12 “Therefore lift your drooping hands & strengthen your weak knees, & make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather healed.”
*This verse is John’s favorite because it reminds him that God has a plan for our lives and we should be obedient to live life the way He intended.*
*John says, “We are not in charge of how fast or slow things happen but I believe if we trust Him, obey His voice, and keep on doing what He tells us to do then one day all will make sense.”*
*And so this verse isn’t just about physical weakness; it also applies to spiritual struggles. We need to strengthen ourselves spiritually by obeying God faithfully every day as well as taking care of our responsibilities like everyone else so that when Jesus comes back for us.*
