In some ways self-awareness is a form of self-awareness. But in other ways self-awareness is the result of the “I” thing that you are talking about. It gets us very, very close to the truth.
The truth being we have an ego, in that we think we’re better than the rest of the world. And the truth being we have a conscience, in that we’re basically good and evil at the same time. Self-awareness is knowing this, but it’s also knowing this is a lie. Knowing this is the foundation.
And this is why self-awareness is so important. It allows us to make decisions in a much more nuanced way. We might not like or agree with a product or service, but we have a much better awareness of what we like and don’t like than most people. We have a much better understanding of why people might be disappointed than most people.
The problem is that most companies will say, “I’m sorry, I don’t accept your apology.” They’re looking to build trust, but this is one of those situations where they might not even accept the apology. That’s when you’ll see the opportunity.
When consumers are willing to give a company money and make a decision, they are more likely to buy a product or service. Thats why companies that make a promise that consumers will buy are in a better position to make money. In a similar vein, there are companies that make promises of being more customer-centric, but this is a whole other level of commitment.
I do believe that youll find in the long run that the best way to make money is to leverage customers to promote a product or service. There is a lot of money to be made in the marketing department and using the right marketing techniques to help a company generate sales.
