In the words of Shakespeare: “I am not un-learned.
I think I know how to read all these things, but I just can’t get enough of it (I don’t use a whole lot of words). I think if I can just read as little as possible and avoid any unnecessary information, then I can be as cool as ever, and can do it.
I think we both agree that the “I don’t know everything about that” attitude tends to cause us to not process things as fully as we should. The solution is not to avoid information, but to learn to process information. For example, if you’re trying to write a term paper on something you don’t know, you should learn to read between the lines to avoid writing a term paper that has some information you don’t know about.
We agree on this point because a term paper about something you dont know is a term paper you dont need. A term paper on something you know may be a paper that you need, but you need to learn to process information.
Of course, we believe that everyone should know how to process information, but we also believe that our own self-awareness allows us to do it. Like when you know something is a good idea, you don’t need to worry about it. Like when you realize that you’ve got a good idea, you don’t need to worry about your own self-awareness.
Sometimes life teaches us to think and act in ways that we might not have thought before. For instance, you might be thinking about how to write a paper and you might have already thought about the topic for weeks. But now that you think about it, you realize you need an external motivation. You think of it as a paper. You write it with your own words. You have a deadline, so you need to hurry up.
I think that’s what’s happening with the idea of rehearsal as a way to help people remember things. It’s not about rehearsing for a performance. It’s about rehearsing for something that might happen in the future. In the case of rehearsal, you realize immediately what that something might be. You put it to the test. It doesn’t matter if you get everything right or not. You know that if you don’t get everything right, you will be punished.
I think it is really important to realize that rehearsal, in and of itself, is not a reliable way to recall information. If it is, then you are probably not rehearsing for something that will actually happen, and when you don’t get everything right, you are probably not rehearsing for something that will actually happen. It is really hard for a good instructor to help me remember all of my lines.
Yes. The problem is that rehearsal is a really good way to remember all of your lines for a piece of music, but it is not a reliable way to remember all of your lines for a piece of information. So you might not rehears for your information even if you really wanted to.
